Christmas...Village Style

Partners you helped to make more than 100 children's Christmas a very merry one!
We drive through a traditional village each day, Kondo Village...the people in that village have become our friends. We have become salt and light...many our practicing Muslims, some are seeking for the truth. - We are asking God to give us the village!

THANK YOU FOR THE FROG!

Lunch at our neighbors in Kondo Village yesterday! Our Muslim friends, invited us to celebrate the end of Ramadan with them yesterday. While practicing my Swahili, I proceeded to thank our host for the delicious food she prepared...Asante, Kwa kula! Which means, thank you for the frog! I should have said: Asante(thank you) Kwa Chakula(for the food)! We all had a good laugh! Relationships in the making, if they receive me, they receive Him who sent me...

This is a common way to eat, when dishes are few.

Please pray for mama Gema and her family

This little one, was playing drums.James made a nice beat for her.

Jaedon & Mahayla found a tree to climb.

WHAT DOES TRUE FREEDOM LOOKS LIKE?

Celebrating the life changing power of Jesus Christ with my friend Tunu.
We met more than a year ago at a play area. Became instant friends. Last month she came by to bring her son for a play date with Jaedon. She confessed Jesus as Lord, and was totally set free from nicotine too!

It's Rainy Season In Tanzania, There's a New Baby and Our Community is Being Reached!

Hello family and friends!

Behind once again on my blogging, but you have all been busy too, right?! :)

Thought I would share some pictures with you of the day we picked up our van from the garage, after having the motor mounts replaced...yep, it was that kind of day! :)

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

There used to be a somewhat level road here...and most of it was still there...but there was this one spot...yay...:)

The tire was not touching
the ground,just hanging
around :)

Our friend and neighbor, Etiene, Church Planter from South Africa. He came to the rescue!

On a positive note, as a family we are celebrating the birth of our newest grandson, Xavier Amant! He was born on March 26, 5pds and 6oz. Such a little guy, however completely healthy. Thank God. He is fearfully and wonderfully made.
 Congratulations William and Beatrice!

Who Knew You Could Be A Missionary At School!

James and I volunteer at HOPAC (Haven of Peace Academy) the vision is not just to minister to missionary, local and international students, but to reach into the community as well. This is why each week HOPAC trains and equips students at all grade levels to serve by going and doing.

The above video is a short clip of the students I (Deanna) taught in Term 1. I shared Biblical principals of giving and living our lives "Recklessly" for the Lord!  They "taught" students at local schools, basic English as a Second Language several days out of the month. The additional classroom time was used to train and  prepare lessons.

In March of this year the entire school will participate in what we call SEW week. We will be involved in community projects all over the city as well as on the school campus.

Please pray for hearts within the community to be opened to more than just having students work on their projects during the weeks leading up to SEW week. Thank you!!!

JeNi the 3rd student from the right, played the role of Titiana in HOPAC's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

It's a blessing for James and I to watch our children grow and develop. After Homeschooling for 20 years...yes, 20...It is such a joy to have the blessing of Christian schooling right here on the mission field! Thankful for the founders who had a vision to provide quality Christian education for MK's"(Missionary Kids).

Thank you for taking time to read our blog update. I really need to post more often! Pray that I do!

We give thanks on every remembrance of each of you!

Dick Family Vision4Tanzania Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

How thankful we are to be in 2014! A new year, and new beginnings!!  Thank you Family and Friends for praying for the mission of Vision 4Tanzania. We are expectant...God has good plans.
Thank you WOLFC & Baker Family; we enjoyed a time of refreshing, early this year. We spent 3 days in the cool mountains of Lushoto, with the mother of our first convert in Tanzania. :) We gave out the “extra” Move-a-thon shirts, the people were so grateful. They didn’t mind that the shirts were dated and they had no clue as to what and who were listed. :)
WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF OUR FRIENDS AND PARTNERS! Because, of YOUR generosity much was accomplished in 2013. You are blessed and you are a blessing!

Everlasting Love Training Center, Hope, Help, Love!

James and I believe our mission in TZ is to offer, Hope that will not fade, Help that will aid & Love that never fails. Hope for a better future, breaking generational curses of poverty, by helping to train people in our community with basic computer skills and providing English as a second language training. We plan to then help with job placements in preschools & entry level positions. Teaching in our community about the Love of God, through basic Bible studies,. Our community is speckled with people who have embraced Islam & we hear “the call to prayer” each morning & throughout the day. Much wisdom is required. We begin Friday, February 7, with our first Community Bible Study in the Everlasting Love Training Center. This is a small beginning, but we do not despise it!  YOU can help Vision4Tanzania become a reality! No more delays...no more set backs!

Haven of Peace Academy

Me, ESL & Service Learning. Many of our students are Hindi and Muslim and we are salt and light each day! YOU help us to do this! And 2 of our children’s education is provided for. Thank you! Community Reach

During Christmas last year, you helped to provide 15 gifts for children in a local orphanage.  This year in 2014, you are helping to Sponsor 5 local school children, for the entire year! You are helping us to begin a scholarship program in the name of George, an only child & primary student who was our neighbor and our children’s playmate, He was killed in a hit & run accident on his way home from school. Also, we will provide a full academic scholarship to one teenager from our community. George is in the white T-shirt, holding the “football.” 1Cor. 15:55
